Spector of BrockenToday is the last Monday in May, or, Memorial Day. It’s the day that Americans say to those who have fallen while serving in the US armed forces: We remember you, we honor your memory, we thank you.

On Oahu, the Lantern Floating Hawaii event is a beautiful way to recognize those who sacrificed their lives in service.  Here on Maui, residents and visitors gather at a festival called Blossoms for the Brave to sew beautiful flower lei to place at Makawao Veterans Cemetery.

Have a safe, happy day, wherever you are!

  1. Would like to let you know how much fun we had on your tour. Pasco was a great guide and very informative. Please let him know we enjoyed ourselves. He was very patient and a pleasure to be around. Again thanks. NOE & ANNA OLIVO

  2. My daughter, granddaughters, wife and I had a wonderful time on our tour. Our ages range from 9 to 70 and I was concerned that proper attention would be given to our nine and twelve year old granddaughters – and that they would not be bored with the information about flora and fauna.

Well, Tony was incredible! As a guide, he was knowledgable, informative and entertainingly casual. As a person, he was a perfect host for the young folks! He was very supportive and safety conscious as our granddaughters and another young guest climbed under, over and across water falls. He guided their every step on the wet rocks and was the first to jump or dive from the rocks. His style made the nature study one that we all still talk about at all ages.

Oh yes, he took great care of we older kids too! Thanks Tony for a great five hours,

    Pam and Tom McKinnon

  3. Had an incredible time on a hike with you in August 2013- Pasco was our guide. Absolutely awesome- raging water to hike through- it was just great!

  4. We had an absolutely amazing time on the full day hike with Pasco as our guide. At the end of our vacation I asked everyone what the best part of our vacation was for them – and all 6 of us agreed it was the Maui hike. Pasco was incredible!! We learned so much about the culture and our surroundings … and had such a great time. What a beautiful way to learn and enjoy Maui … I would highly recommend it to everyone!!! Thanks Pasco!!

  5. We took the 4 Waterfalls “hike” with Kahi. We had a great time, and especially enjoyed the “nature” part of the hike. We also enjoyed the waterfalls, but not as much. Frankly, I think you should caution those of us who are “seniors” that the waterfalls are pretty rugged and probably not as much fun for us. That was my experience anyway. Kahi was an absolutely Fantastic Guide! If ever I’m stranded out in Hawaii, I want him along. His knowledge of vegetation and wildlife is unbelievable. He really gave us a great tour, told us about the native plants, etc. I’d love to do another tour, but less strenuous.

  6. 8 of us went on a hike with Tony the week of 12/7 and it could not have been better! Tony was so informative and knowledgeable about the island, plant life, water falls, etc – he had little treats for us to eat along the way – the swimming holes under the waterfalls – he MADE the hike fantastic.
I am recommending him to my brother and sister-in-law who are heading to Maui in early January – they were not planning on taking a hike but will now.
    Thanks again Tony – mahalo!!
